How it works

From the list on the fridge to the receipt in your pocket, in five steps.

  1. Step 1

    Make a list

    Sign in with your email or Google account and create a list. Type an item into “Add item…” at the top and press +.

    Choose a shopping list for groceries, with quantities and prices, or a list without prices for notes and to-dos.

  2. Step 2

    Share it

    Open the list options and choose Share list to invite someone by email. Manage access shows who can see it.

    Everyone on the list sees changes live — add something on the way home and it is on their list too.

  3. Step 3

    Shop

    Tap an item to tick it off as it goes in the trolley. Hide what you have collected, filter by store, or reorder the list to match the aisles.

  4. Step 4

    Scan the receipt

    Go to Spending and choose Scan a receipt. Pick the list the shop was for, then take a photo of each part of the receipt — several for a long one.

    Shopping Mate reads it, ticks off what you bought and records what you paid. You can correct the shop, date or item names afterwards in Shop history.

  5. Step 5

    See your spending

    Spending shows your month-to-date total, every receipt you have scanned, and trends by shop, month and category.

    Or ask Mate — “what did we spend at ALDI last month?” — and get the number straight away.

About credits

Some features use AI behind the scenes, and those use credits. You can see your balance and top up under Profile → AI & Credits in the app.
