Privacy

What we collect

• Your account. Your name and email address, whether you sign up with email or with Google.
• Your lists. The lists you create and the items, quantities, prices, notes, categories and photos you add to them.
• Your receipts. Photos of receipts you scan, and what is read from them: the shop, the date, the items and what you paid.
• Credits and purchases. Your credit balance and the credit packs you buy. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
• What you tell Mate, and feedback you send.
• App diagnostics. Usage analytics and crash reports, so we can see what is used and fix what breaks.

Who can see it

• People you share a list with can see and change that list. Nobody else sees your lists unless you share them.
• Service providers that run the app. Data is stored with Google Firebase. Payments go through Stripe. To provide AI features, item names, receipt photos and questions you ask Mate are sent to AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI). Item names may be sent to Google search to find a product picture.
• Shops, when you compare prices. Live price lookups go from your phone directly to the shop's website, so the shop sees the product being searched for.

We do not sell your information.

Sign-in with Face ID or fingerprint

If you turn on biometric sign-in, it is handled by your phone. Your sign-in details are kept in your phone's secure storage, and your face or fingerprint never leaves the device.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a token for your device so we can send them.

Deleting your data

You can delete your lists in the app. To delete your account and everything linked to it, contact us.
